Internet Recruitment strategies of StaffQuest and the Referrals based Search methodology of Quest Executive

StaffQuest

StaffQuest developed the e*Recruitment concept in 2001 to deliver cost-effective recruitment solutions using the then emerging Job Boards. SEEK, MyCareer and CareerOne have been a central component of e*Recruitment and a range of value added services have been designed to deliver a short list of candidates who meet the advertised skills and experience.

e*Recruitment is a service that continues until the position is successfully filled at a cost that is less than half that of traditional recruitment agency fees. It is a proven approach to hiring most staff positions where extensive advertising can be expected to generate a large candidate pool from which a short list can be developed.

Quest Executive

In 2001 Quest introduced Internet based Referral Networks in the search for professionals and executives in technology Advertising alone cannot be relied upon to find the required
candidate for many senior sales, marketing, technology and executive positions. Databases are typically out-of-date and often do not point to the person who is sought, even if they
are in the database. The use of the telephone to approach individuals as a search process is inefficent and intrusive.

Quest Management began operation as a recruiter for IT sales executive in 1986 and by 2001 it was time to use a new Referrals methodology to find the elusive star candidates. Quest
Management's candidate database was the starting point in the creation of a Referrals Network and the use of broadcast emails as a newsletter replaced the telephon. The provision of Referral Fees encouraged the participation of the network members and Quest Executive replaced Quest Management.

WhoYouKnow Contact Network

This is the new version of the Referrals Network with the added benefit that members can introduce colleagues to join and be eligible for introduction fees and initiated through the website.

BlueQ Referrals Job Board

Residing within the blueQ website it provides immediate access to currently available jobs and the referral fees associated with each position. This was previously only available through the emailed newsletter from Quest Executive.

David has been engaged in executive search in the technology sector since 1988 when he founded Pact International with offices in Australia, HK and Singapore.

In 1989 he formed the NSW IT Special Industry Group within the National Association of Personnel Consultants, a forerunner to the RCSA.

Following a period developing technology investments in Asia, he returned to Australia in 1995 and became a partner in Quest Management, which had been operating in IT recruitment since 1986. These services transferred into StaffQuest in 2004.

David Reading began in the IT industry over 30 years ago when he joined IBM UK as a graduate trainee. He held technical and management positions with ICL and Unisys and founded the Parity Group in 1978.

David is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and is an engineering graduate of Kings College, University of London.
